2. Will the Ringtone Ripper work with my phone?
To use the Ringtone Ripper you must have Text Messaging, and Mobile Internet Service on one of the following carriers: Boost, Cingular Blue (formerly AT&T), Cingular Orange, Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, Verizon.*
Please contact your carrier if you are unsure if you have these features on your phone.

3. How do I install the Ringtone Ripper?
a. Click the DOWNLOAD button on the Ringtone Ripper download page, or click here.
b. A File Download will then pop-up. The file is named "ringtoneripper.exe". Click SAVE and save it to your Desktop.
c. Once downloaded, double-click the Ringtone Ripper icon on your desktop to install the software and click NEXT.
d. Choose where you would like to install the software on your PC (the default is on your C: drive in Program Files, which is where most programs are installed).
You can also choose who will be able to use the Ringtone Ripper on your PC (Everyone, or Just You). When you're ready to continue, press NEXT.
e. The Ringtone Ripper is now ready to Install! Click NEXT to continue and the software will automatically install for you.
f. Click CLOSE to complete the process. Hit the Windows START button and in "All Programs" go to the Ringtone Ripper.

4. What kind of a download file is the Ringtone Ripper?
When you download the Ringtone Ripper look for a file on your desktop (or wherever you usually choose to download files) called "ringtoneripper.exe".
This file is guaranteed safe for your PC and contains no malicious spyware or adware.

5. I'm told I need to install .NET Framework version 1.1 (or 1.1.4322) to use the Ringtone Ripper.
You can get it here for free! Most PC's will already have .NET installed, however if your PC does not you can download it from us! .NET Framework is a trusted Microsoft application which lets you use applications, like the Ringtone Ripper, that have been created using .NET development tools. See below.
How to install .NET Framework:
a. When you see the pop-up to obtain .NET Framework from the Web, select NO.
b. Click here to download Microsoft's .NET Framework.
c. A File Download will then pop-up. The file is named "dotnetfx.exe". Click SAVE and save it to your Desktop.
d. Once you have downloaded the Software, check your desktop and double-click the below icon to install the software.
e. You will be asked what you want to do with this file. Click RUN to install it.
f. The software will ask if you want to Install it. Click YES.
g. The Microsoft .NET License Agreement will pop-up and you must select I AGREE and click INSTALL to continue and the program will automatically install.
h. Once the installation is finished it will ask you to press OK to complete the installation process. Now you can install the Ringtone Ripper and start making Unlimited Ringtones!

6. How do I Uninstall the Ringtone Ripper?
The Ringtone Ripper is easy to uninstall. Click the Windows START button and then MY COMPUTER. From there look for the "Control Panel" and choose "Add or Remove Programs".
This will show a list of all the software installed on your PC. Scroll down to the Ringtone Ripper, click on it, then hit the REMOVE tab to go through the easy Uninstall process.

7. What are the features of the Ringtone Ripper?

8. How do I use the Ringtone Ripper?
a. Click on SELECT AUDIO FILE. A File Window will pop-up which lets you find your Music on your PC; either straight from your CD drive, or in your Music folder. Choose the song you want, and click OPEN.
b. Choose where you want the Ringtone to start. Is the really cool part of the song in the middle of the track? Then just move the Red Slider along the track to find the right spot. You can also use the UP and DOWN arrow keys on your keyboard.
c. How long do you want the Ringtone to be? A quick 5 second loop, or a full-on 30 second beat that you can groove to while you scramble to answer your phone? Move the black slider to set the Length on the Ringtone Ripper.
d. Want to see how it sounds? Click PREVIEW and a pop-up will display to play you your new Ringtone!
e. Like what you hear? Click CONVERT TO TONE and wait for a pop-up to tell you your Ringtone is done. Open the "My Ringtones" folder on your desktop to check out your tone.

9. How do I download my ringtone after pressing Send To Phone?
The ringtone is sent to your phone via text message in the form of a link. You must connect to the link provided in the text message using your cellular internet browser in order for the ringtone to download to your phone.
To do this simply use the MENU or OPTIONS key when viewing the text and find the command your handset provides to connect to this link and download the ringtone.
These options are generally GO, GO TO, EXTRACT, EXTRACT URL, USE URL, or DOWNLOAD.
Once you have selected the appropriate command you should connect to your cellular internet browser and the ringtone will download automatically. Make sure that you SAVE or STORE your ringtone to your phone.

10. How can I send ringtones to a different phone number?
In order to change the phone number where the ringtone will be sent, simply remove the information stored in the SETTINGS in the Ringtone Ripper, then press OK.
Once you have done that, create a new ringtone, press send to phone, and you will be asked to enter the new phone number.
Please remember that the phone number a ringtone was last sent to will automatically be stored in the Ringtone Ripper. If you want to switch back to the old phone number, simply enter the cellular phone number and password that you initially removed.

11. What can I do if I am not receiving my ringtone?
If you are unable to receive the text, or download the ringtone you've created through the Ringtone Ripper, simply follow the steps below:
1. Go to http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php
2. If you are a SPRINT user, simply enter your phone number in the first field. If you are with another carrier simply leave this field BLANK.
3. Enter a short description of the ringtone
4. Press BROWSE to access the "My Ringtones" folder and select your ringtone.
5. Once you press UPLOAD FILE, you will be provided with a link (http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/jump.php) and a "jump code".
6. Open your cellular internet and enter the link provided into your browser
7. Enter the jump code provided
8. Your ringtone will now download, ensure that it has been SAVED or STORED to your phone.

12. What is an SMS email address?
An SMS email is your phone's email address, which is just like a normal email address, but any message sent to it will be relayed to your cell phone. In order to determine your SMS email address, please contact your service provider.
